Path of Exile Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a common and essential way to boost the performance of many items in Path of Exile. upgrade item can be a fantastic source of damage and more AD or even more attaches.
In most cases, however upgraded Common and Magic gear is beaten out by Rare-grade gear because of their requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be applied to weapon and armor items. They increase the performance of the item they are attached to. The player must be aware, however, that upgrading a piece up to the maximum upgrade level will increase its defense values. However, it can also affect its agility and speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor beyond +9. The boost in defense typically isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players to increase the effectiveness of specific aspects of a weapon. All levels of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a certain level to qualify for these. Unlike other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped out with another jewel of the same type without destroying the original one. You can only replace the gem once within an item of equipment.
It is normal to use more gems to enhance the appearance of. In addition to improving performance, the diamonds create an outer layer that is more durable than steel, so the repeated friction with pivots doesn't cause harm as easily.

The first trinkets a player unlocks will be the cloak, which gives a small, but valuable boost to speed of movement and evasion. After that, they'll be able to acquire rings, amulets, and necklaces in a similar way to how a player can acquire weapons and armor. Each piece of gear comes with one upgrade slot that accepts either a universal or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be utilized on any device. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.
These trinkets also provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active even when the character is not in combat. This enables the hero to be more effective while inactive, and can also help to compensate for the absence of a strong team or any slots from the talent tree which would normally be filled with hero's ideal stats.
A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you won't be replacing soon, followed by any items with desirable stats, but less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true if an item has multiple stats you'd like to upgrade, as it's usually better to upgrade just one important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.
In the beginning of the game, junglers will usually want to upgrade their trinket into a red one in the middle and top players will usually opt for either a pink or green ward (depending on the matchup). These choices will have a major impact on the hero's abilities to control maps.
Apart from the items listed above, players may also discover a variety of other items in the form of awards and trophies. These can be earned by completing certain milestones in the story.
